This Pereira for Google Google bug report is the fifth and the prize Google awarded became the biggest he ever had. The first bug hunt found by Pereira, making him rewarded 500 US dollars (approximately USD 7 million).
"I found something (bug) quickly and produced 500 dollars I think it's amazing, so I'm a verdict to keep trying since then," he said.
In June last year, he also found a bug in Google's system and earned 10,000 US dollars (about Rp 140 million). Part of the money he used to apply for some university scholarships in the US.
Unfortunately, none of the universities accepted him, and he continued his studies at one of the universities in Montevideo.
Earlier this year, Pereira again found the Remote Command Execution bug in non-production environments Google App Engine. Google then invites Pereira to discuss about the gap and how he found it.
Pereira's first introduction to the programming world began at the age of 11 years, having gotten his first computer a year earlier. Science programming he did not get from school, but he learned self-taught.
Several programming languages he learned and various coding contests he followed. One of them is a contest that takes him around to Google headquarters in California, USA.
Pereira hopes that all the money she earns can help her educational expenses and pursue her dream of earning a master's degree in computer security. There were no other plans he could think of other than education and helping his family's finances.
For now, Pereira only sent bug reports to Google's bounty bug program only. However, some technology and video game companies offer the same opportunity for Pereira to help them find bugs.
Google hopes, with the awarding of this prize, could spur "ethical hackers" aka white hackers like Pereira to report bugs in their programs, rather than selling them to authorized parties.
Pereira wants to take her friends along with hunting bugs.
"They are interested but they feel baseball too understand," said Pereira, as KompasTeknornangkangkum from Digital Trend, Monday (28/05/2018).
However, he continues to encourage his friends to keep trying. "Everyone can learn it," he added.
